God’s Love Answers All Questions!

God is Perfect, Unlike Us.
Since we can’t see God, we tend to imagine that He has the same quirks and behaviors which we have.  For example, when we think about God’s power, we may think about a ruler who brings whole nations into subjection.  Or, we may think about someone who creates a huge corporation and becomes extremely wealthy.
These examples don’t describe God very well because the works of the great ruler and the billionaire are flawed by their sins.  Some of the “great” human achievements came with great injustices.  Even efforts of well-meaning leaders have problems, because no one is free from selfishness and foolishness.
God is different because He is perfect in every way.  He “can do anything”, but He is also perfectly just, perfectly merciful and perfectly kind.  So, God doesn’t do things for His own pleasure.  He does them for our benefit.

God’s Love is Perfect.
In the English language, the word “love” is used for many different things, like “I love chocolate ice cream”, “I love my country”, “I love my husband or wife”.  There is also a kind of love which is so deep that nothing can stand in its way.  This kind of love inspires great sacrifices for the one loved.  It doesn’t stop, even if no love is returned.  It is the kind of love which good parents have for their children.  It leads parents teach the lessons of life, whether they are pleasant or unpleasant.
Since God is a spirit, He doesn’t eat ice cream or belong to a country, but He does have children.  We are God’s children, and He is intensively in love with us.  This brings us to my proposal:

God’s Love Explains Everything!
We all have questions and concerns about our lives.  We have pain and we have      troubling situations.  Some of us suffer greatly from sickness or injustice.  We are tempted to think that God doesn’t care, or even that God wants us to suffer.  Let’s present our questions to God, and calmly wait for His answer.  I am confident that the answer will be that God, in His love, is using or allowing the situation for our good.   As soon as it becomes truly harmful, it will end.
Suppose you have a little brother who is terminally ill.  You pray for his recovery, but no improvement happens.  You try to make the best of the remaining time, but the impending death takes away any satisfaction.  When death finally occurs, would it be  possible to be overwhelmed with a feeling of comfort from God?  Yes, it is possible.  That’s the way it happened for me.
