(Plain Text Version)
In order to satisfy the divine justice, Jesus Christ died for our sins. Jesus was, and is, truly God and truly man. Since He was human, his sufferings and death were real.
Because He is divine [truly God], His death is only the beginning of the story. By His own power, Jesus reunited His soul to His body and was alive once again.
In the Risen Christ, we see His divine nature more clearly. He had what is called a glorified body. He was able to change His appearance, walk through walls, and travel great distances instantly. He was not a ghost, however. To prove this, He ate a piece of fish in front of the Apostles.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is a historical fact which shows that everything Jesus said is true. We can bet our lives on what He taught us.
The resurrection of Christ is also a hint at what is to come for those who stay faithful to Him in this life. At the end of time, we also hope to receive glorified bodies. We will be free of all our problems and limitations. We will be in God’s presence all of the time yet be able to visit our friends without leaving God.
By accepting the cross which He gives us now, we will receive the reward then. The troubles of life on Earth will seem like a distant dream.
