Who Wants To Be Happy?
Most people want to be happy.  They don’t try to be miserable.
Despite their desire for happiness, many people are not happy.  If we can understand what happiness is, we have a better chance of obtaining it.
Does happiness depend on wealth, health, or being treated well by others?  Or, let’s ask: Are there people who have the “good things”, but still aren’t happy?  And, are there people with great hardship who are happy anyway?
Does my happiness depend on what other people do?  If I am happy, can someone take it away from me by their cruelty?  If I am unhappy, can someone “make me happy” against my will?
If I just “decide to be happy”, will it happen?
Is it OK to be happy, when there is so much poverty and injustice?
Does happiness depend on the decisions I make?  If so, how do I make good decisions?
Many definitions of happiness can be found.  It seems that there are two basic themes.  One theme describes happiness as a good feeling or experience.  The other theme describes happiness as a state of contentment which can be constant and permanent.
May God bless us with true happiness!

Welcome to the St. John Bosco News and Notes!
Our goal is to present the Good News of God’s love in an enjoyable format.  We will have Gospel discussions by the early Christians, scriptures and prayers to memorize, puzzles, and discussions of issues.
Let’s start with a prayer: Lord, help us to enjoy Your love, now and forever.  Amen.
